Customer Brief

To landscape a steep and unsuitable garden for the residents. They requested a 2 tiered garden complete with a new patio, sleeper wall, fencing, planting areas, new turf and small steps for easy access.

Recommendations and Quotes

The customer’s originally requested a fence to partition the two tiers of the garden, however on inspection we recommended a sleeper wall with reinforced steel which would be more structurally sound. The customers liked this option as it also would look more aesthetically pleasing and would utilise the space.

We estimated between 4- 6 weeks for completion, due to the tight space which restricted the plant we were able to use and therefore we had to carry out high level of hand work labour.

Project Execution

There was a lot of preparation needed, including a reduce dig of the entire garden which removed 100 tonnes of soil. With some bad weather at this stage of the project, things slowed down. To ensure the project was still running to the projected time line, we worked later on good days and some weekends.

Next we completed the footings followed by the construction of the low level sleeper wall which would separate the tiers. We created a large patio area and fitted a new 6 foot closed board fence around their boundary. Raised flowerbeds with wooden boarders were created and the selected shrubs planted. In the final stages, we used topsoil to prepare and level the new lawn and then we laid the new turf.

Between 3 and 4 men were on site at the varying stages of the project.

We completed the project within 5 weeks and the customers were delighted with the end result. We were invited back to complete more work the customer and we were recommended to their friends.
